It&#039;s never really been an issue... except that dentists could make more money in private practice (both are available). So the issue became that there were too few NHS dentists to meet demand. Then, the current government changed the way dentists were paid, and it caused a lot of gnashing of teeth. Dentists stopped taking NHS work, leaving waiting lists for dentists that would. This girl got caught without an NHS dentist (she may have forgotten to transfer her registration when she became a student) and didn&#039;t visit a private dentist when she started having trouble. That&#039;s really unfortunate.</description>
